Tri-Oval Speedway Under New Ownership  posted August 4th, 2008

Oakridge Fabrication Inc is excited to announce that Bob Timm, President of Raceway property Management, has reached an agreement with Jeff Duelman to purchase the Tri-Oval Speedway. Under the new ownership the Speedway will be transformed into a semi-high banked 1/3 mile oval. There will also be many other exciting changes as well that will be announced as the race season approaches.

The good news for OFI is that this will solidify the weekly running of the Mini-Mod class and ensure the addition of new exciting 600c modified class that will run on the 1/3 speedway. For a complete list of rules on the 600 Modified class please visit www.xcelchassis.com. For any other question regarding rules or pricing in the Mini Mod or 600 Mod classes feel free to contact Don Werner at 507-689-0969.

Check our website regularly as we will be offering many early bird specials on parts and cars in next few weeks. There will also be some minor rule changes to the mini mod classes that will be posted in January.

We are being told that the speedway website will be up and running in a few weeks. The new website address will be www.mississippithunder.com.

1st Annual Midwest Mini Mod Nationals  posted August 4th, 2008

Congratulations to all those that participated in the first annual Midwest Mini Mod Summer Nationals held at the Tri-Oval Speedway on 7/25. Over 28 Mini Mod/ Slingshots checked in to compete for the huge trophies and $4000.00 purse. Charlie Mcnally Jr continued his dominance in the Sr division 30 lap main event and pocketed $500.00 for his efforts. In the Jr division race fans were treated to a awesome side by side battle for the lead between Lucas Schott and Parker Hale. Eventually Lucas was able to wrestle the lead away from Parker and go on to pocket the $300 1st place prize money. In the PeeWee division, Dylan Buckland showed why he is the current point leader with and strong performance pocketing the $150.00 first place prize money.

We apologize for the rougher than normal track conditions. While the timing may have not been the best to make changes to the track, we hope that the changes to the track will promote more side by side racing in the future. Thanks to Jeff Duellman and crew for their continued commitment to improve the racing in the Mini Mod class.

Thanks to both the racers and especially the sponsors that made this event possible. Check our website regularly as we will be looking to schedule another special for the Mini Mods in the next few weeks. We will be posting a bunch of action photos from the summer nationals in the next few days.

Oak Ridge Fabrication Inc. has elected to dis-continue Slingshots  posted April 4th, 2008

Oak Ridge Fabrication Inc. has elected to dis-continue our dealership arrangement with Speedway Entertainment.

Oak Ridge Fabrication Inc is currently developing it's own small spec race car with hopes of having the first car race ready by late April early May. Rules for this new car and class should be worked out in the next week or so and will be published on our website. The new class will be called Midwest Mini Mods and we will be working to establish a sanctioning body and competition committee, to ensure the rules are written in a way that is fair for all competitors. "Slingshots", abiding by the official Slingshot rules as per Speedway Entertainment will be legal for competition in the Midwest Mini Mod class.

Oak Ridge Fabrication Inc apologizes for any inconvience this unfortunate change in events will cause for our customers. Our goal for 2008 was to purchase and sell a sufficient number of new cars to support the addition of another weekly race track, reducing travel time and expense for many of our customers.

While this may slow the growth of a small, affordable, spec car class in our area, we feel the change in direction was necessary for long term sustained growth in the Midwest.
